In a bid to promote safety awareness and emergency preparedness among young people, Duchess Africa, in partnership with Target Search Global Nigeria (TSG Nigeria), successfully organised a free CPR and Emergency Response Awareness Training at Bolson College<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training session, which lasted for over two hours, engaged 20 students in both theoretical and practical sessions focused on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), basic life support, and emergency response procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants demonstrated strong interest throughout the programme, actively engaging facilitators with questions on emergency situations, CPR techniques, and immediate response strategies during critical incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key areas covered during the training included introduction to CPR and lifesaving principles, emergency scene assessment, hands-only CPR techniques, basic emergency response procedures, safety awareness during emergencies, introduction to Automated External Defibrillators (AED), and the importance of teamwork and communication during emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical demonstrations formed a major highlight of the exercise, providing participants with hands-on experience and improved confidence in responding effectively to emergencies before professional medical assistance arrives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, the organisers stressed the importance of increasing CPR awareness and safety education within schools and communities, noting that emergency preparedness remains essential in today\u2019s society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the programme, recommendations were made for the installation of an AED within the school premises, improvement of medical kits and emergency response materials, the engagement of trained security personnel within schools, and regular CPR and emergency response training programmes for students and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants were also awarded certificates after successfully demonstrating practical understanding of the CPR and emergency response techniques taught during the session. The hands-on exercises provided participants with the opportunity to apply what they had learned, reinforcing their confidence and readiness to respond effectively during emergency situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
