Duchess International Women’s Day Conference 2024 Concludes with Powerful Call to Action in Nairobi
The second edition of the highly anticipated Duchess International Women’s Day Conference wrapped up recently in Nairobi, Kenya, marking four transformative days of empowerment, connection, and inspiration. Organized by Duchess International Magazine, the conference ran from April 17–20, drawing participants from across the globe.
The event opened with a dynamic meet and greet session, setting a lively tone for the days ahead. Attendees from countries including South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, Rwanda, Kenya, and Nigeria mingled, networked, and celebrated their shared vision of gender equity and African empowerment.
A Tree-Planting Symbol of Growth and Legacy
One of the standout moments of the conference was the tree-planting initiative at Ngong Forest in Bomas of Kenya. Spearheaded by Bolaji Odunuga, the Convener of the conference and Publisher of Duchess International Magazine, the act symbolized a legacy of sustainability, growth, and the empowerment of future generations of African women.

During her keynote on the final day, Bolaji Odunuga shared heartfelt gratitude for the delegates’ unwavering dedication and reiterated the urgent need for Africans to reclaim and own their narratives:
“For years, I have envisioned us coming together to discuss issues that truly matter to us as Africans. Last year, that vision became a reality, and nothing gives me more joy than seeing women who were part of the maiden edition being part of this year’s.”

The 2024 theme—“Inspire Inclusion, Invest in Women”—was a rallying cry for unity, collaboration, and cross-border partnerships among African women and allies. Throughout the event, participants engaged in panel discussions, leadership workshops, and mentorship exchanges aimed at building a resilient, inclusive future.
